Pray for our soldiers!

Happy Saturday to you! I hope you are enjoying a relaxing weekend or maybe an adventurous one! The highlight of my weekend was hearing from my soldier! *wink*
I'm so proud of him and all of his accomplishments! He shares every little detail of his day with me and sometimes it's a bit much and most I don't even understand, but I'm thrilled he is excited and enjoying his training, however, he is ready to come home and see his family! Hopefully, he'll be getting back next weekend!:)

I started checking the casualty listings....I know I should not probably be doing this with my husband preparing to leave so soon. But it really angers me that so much crap is all over the news, tv, paper, internet, about NOTHING...or featuring the latest gossip on Jon and Kate, Michael Jackson, ect...and there's not ONE headline or memorial to the soldiers who are laying their life on the line every day so others can enjoy the liberty of freedom! Am I the only one that sees this? We have been losing soldiers EVERY DAY! Last month was the deadliest month since the war in Iraq began...I believe there were 76 soldiers who lost their lives...August has been the 2nd with a total of 53 soldiers so far and we still have another week to go! Does our support only reach as far as our car bumper? I guess it would be politically incorrect to memoralize the death of the soldiers in the media! That would just bring to much attention to the war we're fighting overseas. Wonder how quickly they would change their minds if they had to shovel 150 bodies of their dead neighbors or family because of an evil dictator ruling their country without liberty or freedom! My husband had the privilege of meeting an Iraqi soldier yesterday that is in the Army who is SO thankful for Operation Enduring Freedom...He is thankful for his new life in America and remembers regrettfully those days he spent shoveling bodies of people who were innocent yet taken because of communism.

Today in my "NEWS" I would like to offer my sympathy to the family and friends of the young man who died yesterday, supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

His last words on myspace "Finally in Afganistan, time to earn my pay." Mood: accomplished.

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Pfc. Brian M. Wolverton, 21, of Oak Park, Calif., died Aug. 20 in Kunar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with indirect fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y.

We have lost many men in the 10th Mountain Division these last 2 months. Please pray for our soldiers over there and the units deploying this October and January from Ft Drum!
