DIY Martha Stewart vs. Naturally Momma

Well it's a mad rush to pull everything together to renew our vows next month. This year marks our 15th anniversary. We are celebrating this very special occasion by renewing our vows. :)

This time we are writing our own vows! I decided since we got married over memorial day weekend that I would decorate with a vintage patriotic theme and 4th of july sorta picnic! I made these Star Medallions? Martha S(t)ewart used fabric and you had to sew them...see here, I cheated and bought scrapbook paper! See, I'd rather glue or staple than sew any day! :) Much much easier! These will hang above the tables under the pavilion at the park we're holding the ceremony at.

Step 1: Use two pieces of 12X12 paper. Fold each paper like a fan. Fold each fan in half.

Step 2: Use a stapler or double-sided tape to connect the two fans to make a circle.

Step 3: Use scissors to cut angles on the ends of the fan to make the fancy points.

Step 4: Hang with ribbon or yarn. Viola!

If you want to make different sizes like the small flag one I made, just cut one 12X12 in half and follow directions!

Tomorrow I will show you pics of the 50's style dress I'm making for me! :) :) :)
