Slipcovered chair

Well, I don't know where my energy came from after cleaning
up the aftermath of Thanksgiving :P

I received an armchair from a friend who already had THREE!
Nice to have that problem =) I was thinking how much I would
love to order a slipcover from Ikea to match my white couch.
I decided first to attempt to sew my own. I LITERALLY draped
the white fabric over the chair, drew my pattern and cut the
pieces out. Much to my surprise, it turned out exactly how I
had pictured it in my little head!!! I was sooo excited..as
I've never sewn a slipcover before...well except for pillows!

Now to find a feedsack pillow for it! or...something beach cottage!

What do you think of my curtains? Thinking of switching them out
for Burlap? Not sure though...

Happy Monday to you! It's snowing here...so exciting...my kids
were going crazy! (we're from the south) heehee

You did a great job! I like the curtains you have, but the burlap would work nicely too.

Your talents never cease!! Could you please come back home! ;)

I like the curtains you have! Of course with a nice print pillow in the chair the bulap might look nice. The present ones soften the cozy corner.

SNOW...now I'll just come to YOUR home if that's okay! How I love SNOW.

Hugs..

Hi Aubrey, Thanks for stopping by.
Just let me know when you'd like to start, and what your interests are. Right now I'm looking for a homeschool mom to write every second week for "Train Them Up Tuesday", (posts can be anything related to homeschooling)
But there are other options too. Thanks for offering. ~~~Deb

Aubrey, this looks FABULOUS! I can't get over what a great job you did! I love your floral curtains, but if you want a change, you could try burlap. OR I have read that a lot of people are using the drop cloths you can get at Home Depot. I heard theirs were better for this. There are two types, but one has more texture. Check them out and see if it would work for you because it is an inexpensive no-sew alternative. But since you can sew and do a good job, burlap might be best. I also read that Hobby Lobby has good burlap that doesn't have much of an odor.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Your chair turned out cute. Great job on the slipcover. I am making one currently... but I doubt it will be very good.

I think you're amazing and you give me hope! Your slipcover looks gorgeous (very Shabby Chic)! I'm planning on doing one this winter and I hope it turns out as good as yours.

great job with the slipcover. I like your curtains, but burlap would look nice as well. would bring in some texture. I just popped over from Kimba's DIY day.

I just found you through today's creative blog, and I just thought I'd put my two cents in. I love the curtains. If you change them out, make sure you put some other kind of pattern in that corner, so it doesn't get too neutral and bland.

Mt. Vernon WA you say? I am about 30 minutes from there. Small world.. NY seems like such a different world from WA. Are you upstate? I bet it is so much colder this time of year in NY. It has been mild here. Have a great day!

Aubrey,

I just got a sewing machine and hope to become as a creative as you. I loved your quilted hanging with the Christmas Tree. Maybe when i come home for a visit you can give me a lesson in sewing.

Happy Holidays, Angie
