LIl’ girl’s pink cottage bedroom updo

Well ever since we did big sister’s room here…..Genevieve has been begging mom to redo her room.  Well we updid her room…if that’s a word…I just added lots of stuff, well I made some things that I recycled from things I already had…amazing what you can find when you shop your house…which btw I should mention that the last few posts I’ve done on my house, I’ve shopped my house and repurposed or recycled stuff I already owned…now that’s frugal shopping :)

Oh back to Genevieve’s room…..So let me start with the new stuff added…the pics on the wall over the bed were frames I already had, I spray painted them white, distressed them and the animals are what I drew literally on scratch paper and cut them out of pieces of fabric from old clothes. :)  I LOVE them…they look rustic yet shabby chic…and the purpose in doing animals was because lil’ girls request was a room with woodland animals….the dog was Nana’s doggy though.

The curtains are a target shower curtain I bought three yrs ago, I cut it in half and sold some additional fabric (pink gingham) on the bottom to lengthen the curtain to touch the floor.  The rods I bought yrs ago from Dollar General and spray-painted them white.  The Lamp I made recently here.  I made the quilt at the end of the bed while my soldier was in boot camp a few yrs ago.

The blue floral duvet, my aunt recently sent to me with the pillow shams. It’s from france! :)  The basket was purchase yrs ago from LTD and I spray-painted it white and hot-glued the ribbon to it.  The bedskirt was a purchase yrs ago from Goodwill. The bear was her first build-a-bear, from her first birthday party she was invited to!030

I went through their stuffed animals and used various lil woodland creatures to decorate with :) Hence the deer on the dresser and bed…and the bird and bunny in the frames.

020  023I made this rug a couple years ago, I intended on making it much bigger, but time got away from that project…it’s called a Toothbrush rug! They are so much fun to make. I used scraps of fabric I had to make this one.

Excuse the carpet….I’m told the new house in Germany is all wood floors…YEA!!

Here is a view of the other side of the room….I hung her dress she came home in on the pink hooks…the frame above it is for her to tack her photos! :)

I would like to add a mural of a tree and some birds after we move! :)

Have a great week folks and stay in touch~

Very sweet! Love the idea of cutting your hand sketched animals out of fabric to frame. Great job.

Her room is adorable. I'm in the process of redoing Amanda's room on a budget. It's coming along very slowly, just waiting to find what you need from yardsales, thrift stores, etc.... but it will be cute when it's done!
